Suicide Prevention Specialist, Trainer, Evaluator, Mentor, Consultant
Education and mentoring: Dr. Rob Cramer completed his B.A. in psychology at Loyola University Maryland. This liberal arts foundation influenced his mentoring and leadership style ground in cura personalis or “caring for the whole person.” Dr. Cramer received his M.A. in clinical psychology and Ph.D. in clinical psychology (law and quantitative methods specialties) from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). Training in a top-tier clinical-research institution laid the groundwork for his expertise in suicide prevention, trial consulting, violence prevention, LGBTQ+ health, methods and analytics, and law & policy. Dr. Cramer completed his APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of California San Francisco.
Higher education leadership & community partnership: He has a 15+ year career as a higher education leader, having served as faculty at Sam Houston State University, the University of Alabama, Old Dominion University, and UNC Charlotte. As a psychologist in public health, Dr. Cramer has extensive experience partnering with agencies spanning educational, military, healthcare, criminal-legal, and non-profit sectors. Example impactful partnerships include with the U.S. Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (USA), NC Department of Adult Correction (USA), Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (Finland), National Health Services (NHS)/Ashworth High Secure Hospital (England), and Fraser Health Authority (Canada).
Industry experience: Dr. Cramer has been active with direct involvement in industry as a trial consultant for Brodsky Forensic Psychology (Tuscaloosa, AL; 2005-2010) and Westlake Trial Consulting (Austin, TX, 2011-2015), and as an adjunct research staff member for the Institute for Defense Analyses (Alexandira, VA, 2022-present).

Violence Prevention Center: Dr. Cramer is the co-founder and Assistant Director of Training for the UNC Charlotte Violence Prevention Center.
